Stockport B.H.C. celebrated its 30th anniversary recently at Denton Golf Club. All the members and their partners were invited to join in the celebrations and were treated to a wonderful evening’s entertainment. Everybody was given a souvenir as a memento of our proud achievement.
Our club was one of the original founders of B.A.B.S. and has started quite a few members on their barbershop careers, not least of whom are Roy Dawson, Steve Hall and John Batty.
Pictured are four of our members who were among the first to join Harmony Revival at its inception and they have all received their 30-year medal. From left to right they are Colin May, Vic Nield, Alan Evans and Stan Waters. Alan sadly passed away in 2005, after leading the chorus as Musical Director for over 20 years
Next Stop Harrogate
After our successful return to competition at the BABS convention in Llandudno in 2009 we’re planning to do even better at Harrogate this year.
With the newly enlarged chorus, thanks to the latest Learn to Sing recruitment, we’ll be working hard under our MD, Lesley Carson, to improve on last year’s twenty-first place.
We look forward to seeing you there on May 22nd.
